The Mayor of Castlebar Councillor Ger Deere has embarked on a visit of the three secondary schools in Castlebar over the next few days to formally welcome the hundreds of first year students who will be starting their post primary studies in the county town.

Local residents confirmed to Cllr Deere that a number of other accidents had occurred at the location in recent months.
